Please visit the Service System Project at http://www.na.org/?ID=servsys to help address some of our ongoing challenges in delivering NA services. The service system project was created to address some of our ongoing challenges in delivering services. For several cycles, our Issue Discussion Topics focused on "infrastructure" or "service structure" or "building a bridge to service," and we heard the same struggles repeated over and over: apathy, disunity, communication problems, difficulties with our public image, and challenges delivering basic services (e.g., helplines that don't get answered). The service system project grew out of the need to find solutions to these old problems. The 2008 World Service Conference unanimously adopted a plan for this four-year project, and the 2010 conference unanimously reaffirmed the project. We've had over 85 people volunteer to receive helpline calls, as well as another 23 who have indicated they would be willing to help in more ways than answer the phone. That's great. Thank you. The project plan was approved for the new helpline at the Minnesota Regional Service Conference on June 12, 2010. The project plan includes the purpose, objectives, and implementation timeline. So check it out here https://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AZ1s-EejVagKZGY0czVyMzdfMTg2ZDJja3oyZ2s&hl=en The next steps, will be to schedule you for a Helpline training and then schedule you for shifts. We'll be sending an email with some upcoming training dates. We will have training in-person as well as over the phone. Thank you for your willingness to make this important service a reality.
